Hi, I'm Kenichi
I am passionate about bringing brands to life by carefully understanding the brand’s DNA and characteristics, market conventions, and target customers. The key is to identify how to be relevant to the consumer’s needs and anticipation while differentiating from competitors. Whether a project is for external or internal, B2B or B2C, local or international use, this principle supports a strategic process that ensures a creative solution and effective communication.
Equally vital to the strategic process is finding ways to close the gap between strategy and implementation so that the final result is a richer manifestation of the original brand. Some tools for closing the strategy/implementation gap include; early mid-level management involvement, additional toolkits, visually expanded graphic guidelines, etc. Moreover, I believe it is essential to manage and support the branding staff during the entire process of optimizing creative outputs that are on-strategy, on-brand, and on-target. Here are some examples of programs I have completed, including my tenure on both the agency (Addison Design, Profile Design, Landor Associates) and client-side (GAP, Inc., The Clorox Company).
